TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State's Eddie House and Nate Green of Indiana State have been named CHI Co-Players of the Week
Arizona State got a record-breaking performance from guard Eddie House on Saturday versus San Diego State. In the opening 10 minutes, the senior scored 22 of ASU's 27 points, ending the half with 37 points on 16-of-20 shooting.
House finished with a career and school-record 46 points, eclipsing the previous record of 45 set by Paul Williams at USC on March 10, 1983. It marked the fifth time that House totaled over 30 points, but it was the first time he scored more than 25 points at Wells Fargo Arena.
The past two weeks have seen two huge performances by Indiana State. The Sycamores played their first game, on Sunday evening, since defeating the Indiana Hoosiers a week ago and, this time, they got a big individual performance.
Senior Nate Green had a career night, in Indiana State's 102-91 2 OT win over Eastern Illinois, with 45 points. The 6-5 Green was a remarkable 20-21 from the free throw line in helping the Sycamores overcome a 12-point deficit with just under five minutes remaining in regulation. The 21 free throws were three shy of a school record.
In addition, Green had a career-high eight steals. Green's 45 points were the most scored by an Indiana State player since John Sherman Williams had 47 against West Texas State in 1984.
