Swimmers of the Arizona State swimming and diving team continued to enjoy success at the ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships in Indianapolis. Caitlin Andrew placed eighth overall at the USA Swimming Nationals in the 100 butterfly. The senior All-American swam in her first "A" final, which contains the fastest swimmers in the nation. She finished with a time of 59.48 in the finals after qualifying for the "A" final with a time of 59.55 in the preliminaries.
Senior Ellis Schieman also swam in the 100 butterfly, clocking in 1:03.37 in the preliminaries. Senior John Dwelley and incoming freshman Collin Gladys also partook in the 100 butterfly, finishing with times of 55.31 and 56.75 respectively.
Gladys also competed in the 200 breaststroke, touching in at 1:06.22. Junior Sean Boyle and sophomore Ashley Evans both swam in the 200 freestyle preliminaries, clocking in times of 1:53.12 and 2:05.16 respectively.
The USA Nationals concludes tonight.
