Did not play at all in 2005-06 in first year in uniform but won the new coaching staff over with his work ethic and knowledge of the game in the 2006-07 fall and preseason practices and played in 27 games in Herb Sendek's first season. Eighth on the team in total minutes played (152) yet had just one turnover on the year and that happened in the second game of the year. Played in eight games in 2007-08. Father is former Oregon standout Steve Jones. Did not play in 2005-06 but was a valuable practice player. Led high school team in charges taken in his senior year. Nicknamed "Chop" and is fluent in French. Finished his ASU two-year career with a 32-game and 153-minute turnover-free streak.
Played in 27 games in 2006-07 and made starts vs. San Jose State (Nov. 21) and vs. Washington (Feb. 1). Played double-digit minutes in six games and led team on Nov. 15 with a season-high 12 points vs. Cal State San Bernardino in 15 minutes and nailed four three-pointers. Played a season-high 22 minutes vs. Portland State on Nov. 18. Played in 16 Pac-10 games and averaged four minutes per game in league play and saw action in each of the final dozen games.
Played two seasons at Jesuit High School in the Metro League and was named Most Inspirational Player in both his junior and senior seasons, playing in the post. He started all 29 games as a senior and averaged nine points and five boards. He shot 55.6 percent from the field at the state high school tournament.
