Arizona State - 2006-07: Went 11-20 on the year with a 3-14 record in duals... placed sixth at the Pac-10 Championships at 141 pounds... rebounded from a first-round loss with two wins in a row, including an 11-5 upset of No. 18 Kyle Larson of Oregon State in the consolation third round... went 4-2 at the Reno Tournament of Champions, missing out on placing by one bout... scored an 18-6 major decision over Matthew Bullwinkel (The Citadel) in Reno for his first bonus-point victory... garnered Honorable Mention Academic All-Pac-10 honors... 2005-06: Redshirted in his first year with the program.

High School: A graduate of Red Mountain High School (Mesa, Ariz.)... went 155-29 in his high school career with a 49-1 record as a senior... won the state 5A title as a senior... three-time East Valley Region champion... twice finished third at the state meet (sophomore and junior years)... named team MVP and high school's Athlete of the Year as a senior... lettered four times for RMHS and captained the team on three occasions... is a National Hispanic Scholarship recipient.
