ASU: Moved to tight end this spring after being a backup at quarterback in each of the last three years...has always been ready when called upon...one of six players on the Sun Devil roster who has already earned his undergraduate degree...was recognized as a Hard Hat Player for his work in ASU's winter strength and conditioning program. 2001: Saw action in nine games...completed 21 of 43 passes for 273 yards, one touchdown and five interceptions...had a 41-yard pass play against USC...had a 14-yard run against Stanford...against USC was nine of 17 for 117 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions...ran for a two-point conversion against Louisiana-Lafayette. 2000: Played in five games...completed nine-of-23 attempts, with one interception, for a total of 169 yards and one touchdown...longest pass was a 42-yarder vs. Stanford...against Utah State completed only pass to Mike Pinkard for 28 yards... also hooked up with Pinkard for 26 yards vs. California...saw his most significant playing time against Stanford, throwing 13 times with five completions...completed two of five attempts in the Aloha Bowl for 73 yards, including 31-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Dennard with 51 seconds left in the fourth quarter. 1999: Played on ASU punt and kick coverage units... also serves as blocker in field goal and extra point formations. 1998: Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 1998 graduate of Amador Valley High School...lettered three times in football, three times in basketball and once in track...three-year starting varsity quarterback...named all-League all three years...1997 League MVP...led Amador Valley to a 30-6 record in his three years at quarterback ...Amador Valley was league champion in 1996 and '97...played in North Coast Section Championship in 1996 and '97...was also a punter and kicker...connected on a 48-yard field goal...his 3.43 GPA earned him North Coast Scholar Athlete Awards from '95-'97...SuperPrep "All-West Region" selection and "Top 100" selection...Valley Times selection as the No. 1 college football prospect in the East Bay...passed for 1,611 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior...as a senior passed for 1,823 yards and 14 touchdowns...was also a starting pitcher on the varsity baseball team for three years... pitched a no-hitter in his first league start...coached by Rick Sira.
