Off the Tee: "Jed comes from a small town in Iowa, but brings some big credentials," said Coach Lein. "He has had much success competing at the highest level in national junior events. He has a wonderful shortgame and manages his game well. As he matures and gains strength he will be one heck of a player."
Prep and Junior Career: Captained his high school golf team at Hampton-Dumont Commuity High School as a senior in 2007...also attended the Westminster Christian School in Miami, Fla. during his junior year of high school...was named first team All Miami Dade County...was the 2006 Pepsi Little Peoples Golf Champion...helped his team to make its first ever appearance at the Florida state tournament and tied for 9th individually...is a 17-time medalist in Florida and Iowa high school golf.
Etc.: Born Feb. 26, 1989 in Mason City, Iowa...Parents are Sam and Cindy Dirksen of Hampton, Iowa...has an older brother, Dustin (27), who was a member of the golf team at Northwood University and an older sister, Misty (24), competed for the Georgia Tech track and cross country teams...full name is Jed Lee Dirksen.
