Christy Nore was perhaps the best athlete to ever play in the ASU volleyball program… had a lethal combination of quickness, power and precise passing to make her one of the best in ASU volleyball history… played for coach Debbie Brown from 1985-88 as an outside hitter… led the team in kills from her sophomore through senior years, ending with 497 her senior year, a mark that still ranks fourth in ASU single-season history… is one of only eight players in ASU volleyball history to reach 1,000 digs and 1,000 kills in a career, still ranking at the time of her induction (2002) fourth in all-time kills (1,517) and is the all-time record holder with 1,597 career digs… was a three-time Pac-10 Player of the Week and was named a first-team AVCA All-American in 1988… led the nation in digs in 1988 with a 4.92 per game average (556 overall)… also averaged 4.40 kills per game during her senior year… ASU advanced to the NCAA Tournament in each of her four years… a member of the 1987 World University Games team that competed in Zagreb, Yugoslavia… came to ASU from Scottsdale’s Chapparal High School where she was a four-sport all-state selection in tennis, track, softball and volleyball.
