MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – No. 13 Sun Devil Women’s Tennis got its sixth sweep of the season, as they defeated the West Virginia Mountaineers, 4-0, Thursday evening at the Mountaineer Tennis Courts in Morgantown, W. Va.
In doubles, the No. 3 pair, freshman Sarang Lim and junior Sara Svetac won 6-1, Then, on Court No. 1, Aiya Nupbay and Lily Taylor notched a 6-4 victory to give Arizona State (12-4, 4-2 Big 12) the doubles point.
In singles, Lim gave the Sun Devils their second point after defeating her opponent 6-0, 6-1, for her fifth dual win this spring. Junior Sara Svetac only dropped two games in her singles match from the no. 1 position, winning 6-1, 6-1, to give ASU a 3-0 lead.
Graduate Vivian Ovrootsky clinched the victory with her 13th singles win this spring, 6-4, 6-2, which gave ASU its fourth conference win this season. The victory also improves the Sun Devils to 4-1 on the road and a 2-0 advantage all time against West Virginia (6-8, 0-7 Big 12).
The No. 13 Sun Devils will head to Cincinnati, Ohio, to face the Bearcats on March 21st, at 9 a.m. MST/12 p.m. EDT. Live stats will be available on StatBroadcast along with a live stream against Cincinnati on ESPN+.
