TEMPE – Sun Devil Gymnastics is set to compete in the afternoon session of the 2026 Big 12 Gymnastics Championship this Saturday at 12 p.m. MDT/11 a.m. MST at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah.
The afternoon session will be a dual meet against West Virginia, with Arizona State being the higher seed and rotating in Olympic order, starting on vault. The evening session, which begins at 6 p.m. MDT/5 p.m. MST, will feature the remaining four Big 12 teams: Utah, Denver, BYU and Arizona. The Big 12 Champion will be determined by the team with the best score between both sessions, and individual champions can come from either session as well.
The afternoon session will be streamed on ESPN+, and the evening session will be streamed on ESPNU. Live scoring will be available along with updates on X (@SunDevilGym) and Instagram (@sundevilgymnastics). Sun Devil outlook
Arizona State (11-8, 2-3 Big 12)
- The Sun Devils are coming off a tri-meet win at home where they placed first over Utah State and Southeast Missouri State. ASU set a new season high of 196.500 on senior day, along with new season highs on bars (49.150) and beam (49.200).
- All event titles went to a Sun Devil. Juniors Lilia Purler and Halle Gregoire earned a 9.825 to tie on vault. Junior Reese Grolla scored a 9.900 on beam, setting a personal and team season high. In addition, she tied senior Kimberly Smith and freshman Delanie Kelly on bars with a 9.850. Smith went on to win the floor title as well, earning a 9.925, along with the all-around, notching a 39.350.
- Freshmen showed out in the final regular-season meet as well. Delanie Kelly scored a 9.850 on bars for a career high (and the event title tie). Safia El Mammann earned a 9.850 on beam, and Adele Ossi followed, carding a 9.800 on beam. Both of those beam scores were personal bests. Additionally, Kylee Bromley made her return to the all-around, tying her career high with a 39.225.
- Senior Kimberly Smith is having a strong senior campaign. She leads the team in event title wins with 15, six of which are in the all-around. She has four scores of 9.900 or better, and on bars she has scored a 9.825 or better in all but the first meet of the year. Similarly, on vault and floor she has been consistent as well, scoring below a 9.800 just twice on each event.
- Two other Gym Devils have scored 9.900s or better this season. Junior Reese Grolla has the highest individual score for a Sun Devil on both bars (9.950) and beam (9.900). On floor, junior Halle Gregoire has two 9.900s this year.
- Last year at the Big 12s, Arizona State finished in fifth out of seven teams. The Sun Devils have not finished above fourth place at conference championships since 2004.
