TEMPE, Ariz. — The Arizona State ice hockey team has unveiled its highly anticipated 2025-26 schedule, featuring 36 total games, including 20 matchups at home inside the electric confines of Mullett Arena. The Sun Devils will host two four-team tournaments — the Ice Breaker Tournament and Desert Hockey Classic — and navigate a heavyweight non-conference schedule featuring Big Ten powerhouses Penn State, Ohio State, and Notre Dame.
The 2025-26 slate pits ASU against some of the nation's best, including five programs that competed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
The season opens with a two-game home series against Penn State (Oct. 3-4), immediately raising the stakes with a high-profile non-conference matchup. The Nittany Lions are fresh off a run to the 2025 Frozen Four, where they fell 3-1 to Boston University in the semifinals in St. Louis.
ASU will then host the prestigious Ice Breaker Tournament (Oct. 10-11), welcoming national contenders Quinnipiac, Notre Dame, and Alaska Fairbanks to Tempe. Following the tournament, the Sun Devils make their first road trip of the season, visiting Augustana in South Dakota (Oct. 17-18).
After an early bye week (Oct. 24-25), ASU opens NCHC play with a Halloween weekend trip to Miami (Oct. 31-Nov. 1). The Sun Devils then return to Mullett Arena to launch their conference home slate against Colorado College (Nov. 7-8).
The gauntlet continues with a blockbuster home-and-home series against North Dakota. ASU travels to Ralph Engelstad Arena (Nov. 14-15) before hosting the Fighting Hawks (Jan. 23-24). The Sun Devils also host 2025 Frozen Four participant Denver (Nov. 21-22) ahead of a premier Thanksgiving weekend showdown with Ohio State (Nov. 28-29).
December sends ASU on the road, facing Minnesota Duluth (Dec. 12-13) and Dartmouth (Dec. 27-28). The Sun Devils ring in the New Year by hosting the Desert Classic (Jan. 2-3), featuring Air Force, Alaska Anchorage, and Michigan Tech.
Conference play resumes in January with a home series against Miami (Jan. 9-10) before another off weekend. The Sun Devils then face North Dakota at home (Jan. 23-24) as the Penrose Cup race heats up. The stretch run continues with a trip to Colorado College (Jan. 30-31) and a home clash with St. Cloud State (Feb. 6-7).
Highlighted on the second-half slate is a trip to face the defending national champion Western Michigan Broncos (Feb. 13-14).
ASU's regular-season home schedule wraps up with a series against Omaha (Feb. 20-21) before closing the road slate in Denver (Feb. 27-28).
The postseason journey begins with the NCHC Quarterfinals (Mar. 6-8), followed by the NCHC Semifinals (Mar. 14) and Championship Final (Mar. 21). From there, the road to the NCAA title runs through NCAA Regionals (Mar. 26-29) and culminates at the 2026 Frozen Four, set for April 9-11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, home of the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights.
