TEMPE – No. 10 Sun Devil Beach Volleyball returns to Tempe for their first home matches of the season, hosting the Sun Devil Classic this Friday and Saturday. 

After a 4-0 weekend at the Cactus Classic, the Devils look to continue their winning streak against a slate of strong opponents. They will face Texas A&M - Corpus Christi and Coastal Carolina on Friday at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. MST, respectively, and No. 6 Cal Poly on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. MST.

How to Follow/Fan Information
The first 30 fans through the door will receive a free giveaway. There is a clear bag policy and no pets are allowed. Fans can bring their own chairs or blankets, though there will be seating available.

Sun Devil Outlook
No. 10 Arizona State (5-5)
  • The Sun Devils went 4-0 at the Cactus Classic in Tucson, picking up two ranked wins over No. 18 Grand Canyon and No. 20 Stetson. They now have three this season. 
  • Head coach Kristen Glattfelder has 14 ranked wins while at ASU, the most ranked wins by a head coach in program history. 
  • Arizona State remains undefeated against unranked opponents under Glattfelder, dating back to last season. 
  • The No. 1 duo of Daniella Kensinger and Ava Williamson are this week's Big 12 Pair of  the Week, the first Big 12 award for the program. They went undefeated over the weekend, picking up two wins over pairs from ranked teams and not losing a single set in the process. They improved to 5-5 on the season and were the only Sun Devil pair to win every match last weekend.

Opponent Outlook
Texas A&M - Corpus Christi (5-3, 2-0 Southland)
  • The Islanders went 3-1 at the Longhorn Invitational over the weekend, with their only loss coming against the No. 14 Texas Longhorns.
  • The team finished the 2024 season with a 28-10 record, and a 7-0 mark in conference play. They were ranked No. 18 in the nation in the final poll, after losing to UCLA in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. 
  • The Sun Devils are 2-0 against the Islanders all-time, with the most recent meeting of the two teams coming in 2022. 
Coastal Carolina (4-4, 1-0 Sun Belt)
  • Coastal Carolina went 0-4 at the Longhorn Invitational, with only two pairs picking up wins. 
  • The Chanticleers were 27-10 in 2024, and went 8-2 in Sun Belt play. The squad made it all the way to the championship match of the Sun Belt Conference before losing to No. 15 Georgia State. 
  • Arizona State and Coastal Carolina will meet for the first time on Friday.
No. 6 Cal Poly (2-2)
  • The Mustangs competed at the Battle for LA Tournament, going 2-2 and picking up a ranked win over No. 8 Long Beach State. Their two losses came against No. 1 UCLA and No. 2 LMU. 
  • The team went 31-7 in 2024, picking up 11 ranked wins. The team finished the season ranked No. 3 in the country, losing to eventual national champion USC in the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament. 
  • Cal Poly holds a 5-0 record over ASU all-time, with the most recent meeting coming in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, when the Mustangs took the dual 3-0.
