TEMPE – No. 12 Sun Devil Beach Volleyball is back home this week to host five duals, starting with a rivalry matchup with Arizona on Wednesday. On Friday and Saturday, Arizona State will co-host the ASU/GCU Invitational, bringing in UAB, No. 19 Washington, UTEP and South Carolina to Tempe.  

How to Follow
The first 30 fans through the door for each ASU dual will receive a free giveaway. There is a clear bag policy and no pets are allowed. Fans can bring their own chairs or blankets, though there will be some seating available.

Sun Devil Outlook
No. 12 Arizona State (9-8)
  • The Sand Devils went 2-2 over the weekend at the East vs. West Tournament, picking up ranked wins over No. 20 Florida International and No. 18 Georgia State, before falling to No. 12 LSU and No. 10 Texas.
  • No. 5/4 pair Tori Clement and Kendall Whitmarsh went undefeated at the tournament, picking up four ranked wins, three of which came in straight sets. They improved to 5-2 together, and 10-7 individually. Their 10 wins individually lead the team.
  • The Sun Devils look to continue their unbeaten streak against unranked teams under head coach Kristen Glattfelder

Opponent Outlook
Arizona (11-6)
  • The Wildcats went 3-0 over the weekend at the Arizona Invitational. Arizona is 0-5 this season against ranked teams.
  • The squad went 21-12 in 2024, finishing with a 5-4 mark in Pac-12 play. They finished the season ranked No. 19 in the country, and lost to ASU in the Pac-12 tournament to end their season. 
  • Arizona State is 7-15 all-time against Arizona dating back to 2014, but the Sun Devils have won five of the last seven matchups and the last four home games in a row against the Cats.
UAB (10-6, 1-1 C-USA)
  • The Dragons were off last weekend, but they went 2-2 at the FAU Beach Invitational two weekends ago. The squad picked up a win over then-No. 20 Georgia State, their first ranked win of the season.
  • UAB went 19-15 in 2024, posting a 2-3 record in conference play. They had two ranked wins and lost in the C-USA tournament to No. 14 Florida International. 
  • The Devils and Dragons have only matched up once, with ASU taking the dual 4-1 in 2019. 
No. 19 Washington (9-8, 0-2 MPSF)
  • Washington went 2-2 at their tournament two weekends ago at the Mustang Roundup. The team has two ranked wins so far this season.
  • The Huskies went 20-16 in 2024, and were 7-6 in conference matches. The squad lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to No. 4 Florida State. 
  • The Sun Devils are 9-4 all-time against the Huskies dating back to 2017. Washington has won two of the last three, but ASU had a seven-match win streak prior to that.
UTEP (9-8, 2-0 C-USA)
  • UTEP went 1-2 over the weekend at the Arizona Invitational.
  • In 2024, the Miners went 12-13, finishing conference play with a 1-2 mark. The squad went 0-2 in the C-USA Championship at the end of the season. 
  • ASU and UTEP have only met up once in history, with the Sun Devils taking the 2023 dual 5-0. 
South Carolina (8-5)
  • The Gamecocks went 3-1 over the weekend, hosting the Carolina Challenge. The squad is 0-4 against ranked teams this season. 
  • South Carolina was 20-16 in 2024, with a 0-4 mark in CCSA play. They finished the season going 2-2 at the CCSA Conference Tournament.
  • The Sun Devils are 2-3 against the Gamecocks all-time, dating back to 2015. ASU won the most recent matchup last season, 4-1.
