No. 41 Men's Tennis Finishes Runner-up at the Diablos Invitational

TEMPE– No. 24 Sun Devil Men's Tennis finished runner-up at the Diablos Collegiate Invitational after splitting its matches against No. 29 Boise State and No. 9 Arizona on the final day of competition. ASU opened the morning with a 4-1 win over the Broncos before falling 4-0 to the Wildcats at Kiwanis Park on Saturday. 

ASU 4, Boise State 1

The Sun Devil pair in Nicola Cigna and Mathis Bondaz picked up their first win as a pair in the morning's doubles match, however both of ASU's ranked doubles duos fell, giving Boise State  1-0 lead going into singles. 

ASU came out swinging in singles, winning five of six first sets. The next four points were the Sun Devils' as the top four singles guys got the job done to clinch the 4-1 win over the Broncos, sending ASU into the Championship Match against Arizona.

Unfortunately ASU was unable to pick up the doubles point after falling on courts 1 and 3. Arizona won all six first sets, and picked up three straight-set wins on courts 1, 2, and 5 to clinch the match 4-0.

The Sun Devils will compete in the 2025 UTR College Championships March 14-16. The three other teams competing include Pepperdine, Baylor, and Princeton. ASU will face Princeton on Saturday, March 15, with the match beginning at 10:30 a.m. AZT.
