The season opener serves as a solid test for head coach Ryan Ray and Co. The Lumberjacks' Women's squad was recently ranked as the top in the nation in the USTFCCCA's Preseason National Cross Country Coaches' Poll, while both the Lumberjack Men and Women were tabbed to win the Big Sky Conference unanimously.
The Sun Devils return a solid core for this season, headlined by Mia Chavez, Porter Hill, Rowdy Menefee, Kate Miller and Kylie Miller, among others. It's the third season at the helm for Ray, who built an impressive class of newcomers over the summer.
The George Kyte Classic will mark the first of four regular season meets for Sun Devil Cross Country this fall. After competing in Flagstaff, the squad is back in action at the UCR Invite in Riverside, California, on September 21.
