The matchup with North Carolina is the ninth all-time meeting, the first since the 2019-20 season.

ASU looks to find similar success to last year's duals and tournament play in Bethlehem, PA, and are returning three All-Americans in Kyle Parco, Cohlton Schultz, and Jacori Teemer. They'll look to young talent in the program, including the undefeated standout Richard Figueroa, as well as blue chip recruits and transfers like freshman Nicco Ruiz and redshirt senior Chance McLane.

Last year, ASU began the season with a 25-16 victory in their Wranglemania matchup against No. 21 Rutgers. The dual was highlighted by several wrestlers making their debuts on the varsity team, including bonus point victories from Tony Negron and Cael Valencia, and the first win en route to an undefeated season from Richard Figueroa. The team will look to repeat the season-opening success against two ranked squads in UNC and Lock Haven on Nov. 11 in Bethlehem, PA.

After the victory over Rutgers, the Sun Devils had a dominant performance in the Journeymen Collegiate Classic with seven titles and four hammers from Michael McGee, Richard Figueroa, Jesse Vasquez, and Tony Negron. The latter three return to the team this season and will try to build more positive memories at Freedom High School in Bethlehem, PA. Matches are set to start at 7:00 a.m. MST on Nov. 12.
