OXFORD, Ohio – The No. 13/16 Arizona State ice hockey team (4-1-1) pushed the second matchup against Miami (4-1-1) to overtime and collected a 2-1 shootout victory behind goaltender Gibson Homer's first career NCAA appearance.

A redshirt sophomore, Homer made his NCAA debut on Saturday night, making 23 saves through 65 minutes of play and included a shootout showdown. A product of the USA Hockey Development team and the USHL's Chicago Steel, the Grand Rapids native is the 13th goaltender to stand between the pipes for the maroon and gold.

The game goes down as a 1-1 tie according to NCAA overtime and shootout rules which holds the Sun Devils at only one loss on the season.

Early in the second period, Lukas Sillinger scored the sole regulation goal for ASU with an assist from Dylan Jackson. The goal extends Sillinger's point scoring streak to five games (3G, 3A).

ASU held Miami to the second-fewest shots on goal allowed by an opponent this season at 24 (fewest was against Northern Michigan with only 17). Both special teams units saw equal playing time after four penalties were assessed to each bench throughout regulation, but neither squad could convert.
