COACH'S CORNER

The two programs who faced off for the 2023 NCAA Women's Golf Championship, USC and Wake Forest, are also in the field. Several returning All-Americans will be competing for the individual crown, including Arizona State's own Ashley Menne.
THE FORMAT
For the second time this season, Arizona State will complete 36 holes in one day. In similar fashion to the McGuire Invitational, the first two rounds will take place on Monday, Oct. 2, with the final round held on Tuesday, Oct. 3. An individual and team champion will be crowned on Tuesday afternoon following the third round.
THE LINEUP

Redshirt freshman Patience Rhodes gets her third straight nod in the lineup and will golf out of the No. 5 slot. Junior Calynne Rosholt will have a chance to compete for Windy City Collegiate Classic medalist honors, representing ASU as an individual.

HISTORY AT WINDY CITY COLLEGIATE
Arizona State will be back in a familiar spot when they return to the Windy City Collegiate, competing in the tournament in four of the past six years. Golfers will complete 36 holes on the first day of action before wrapping up the event with the final 18 holes the following day. This will be the fifth appearance for the Sun Devils at the Windy City Collegiate Championship, first competing in the event in 2015.
In 2019, Arizona State finished in fourth place as a team lead by Top-10 finishes from Linn Grant (6th) and Alessandra Fanali (10th). In 2018, Raquel Olmos earned a career-best finish at this event, as she posted a 207 (-9) which was good enough for second place. Her second round score of 66 was a career-low, with her first collegiate hole-in-one coming on the 13th hole. The Sun Devils finished in second as a team thanks to Olmos' effort. During the 2017 edition, Olivia Mehaffey matched her career-low (65) in the first-round. Arizona State took home the team championship that year, with Linnea Strom and Olivia Mehafffey earning Top-10 finishes. The program has fond memories of the Windy City area, having won the 2017 National Championship in nearby Sugar Grove, Illinois.
LAST TIME OUT
Arizona State (-13/851) finished in fourth place as a team after posting a 285 (-3), moving two spots up the leaderboard on the final day of the Mason Rudolph Invitational in September. The Maroon & Gold were the top finishing non-SEC team at the tournament played in the footprint of the league, as Coach Farr-Kaye's team proved to be able to handle the change in geography. The Mason Rudolph Invitational featured 11 teams ranked inside GOLF Channel's preseason Top-35 and ASU beat out seven of them this weekend.
The Sun Devils were led by sophomore Paula Schulz-Hanssen, who was fantastic on her way to a Top-5 finish. She completed the Mason Rudolph Invitational at 209 (-7), capping the event with a 69 (-3) to move into a tie for fifth. She was joined by Beth Coulter (T16th) and Grace Summerhays (T20th) in the Top-20 of a loaded individual field.

The Maroon and Gold will compete in a total of nine regular season events, four in the Fall and five in the Spring.
