LINCOLN, Nebraska - There's a new lightweight to keep an eye on. True freshman Emilio Ysaguirre was the man of the match Sunday after upsetting No. 4 Brock Hardy in No. 11 Sun Devil Wrestling's season finale against No. 2 Nebraska. While the Sun Devils fell 25-15, Ysaguirrie stunned the Devaney Center with his 10-4 upset of Hardy at 141. ASU's other points came from a pin at 133 from No. 4 Michael McGee, a 5-2 decision at 149 from No. 5 Kyle Parco, and a 6-0 heavyweight decision from No. 5 Cohlton Schultz.
The Sun Devils finished the regular season 7-5 overall and 4-1 in the Pac-12. The Pac-12 Wrestling Championships are coming up March 5 and are hosted in Palo Alto, California, by Stanford. The NCAA Championships kick off March 16 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Ysaguirre went 4-5 in open tournaments prior to that dual. His resumé a trip to the 2022 Fargo quarterfinals and a silver medal at Junior Nationals. He was the 28th-ranked recruit in the country, and peaked at 13th.
