LINCOLN, Nebraska - There's a new lightweight to keep an eye on. True freshman Emilio Ysaguirre was the man of the match Sunday after upsetting No. 4 Brock Hardy in No. 11 Sun Devil Wrestling's season finale against No. 2 Nebraska. While the Sun Devils fell 25-15, Ysaguirrie stunned the Devaney Center with his 10-4 upset of Hardy at 141. ASU's other points came from a pin at 133 from No. 4 Michael McGee, a 5-2 decision at 149 from No. 5 Kyle Parco, and a 6-0 heavyweight decision from No. 5 Cohlton Schultz.
 
The Sun Devils finished the regular season 7-5 overall and 4-1 in the Pac-12. The Pac-12 Wrestling Championships are coming up March 5 and are hosted in Palo Alto, California, by Stanford. The NCAA Championships kick off March 16 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Remember the name
True freshman Emilio Ysaguirre (Eloy, Arizona) Made his dual debut Feb. 16, 2023 against Louie Ramos of CSU Bakersfield where Ysaguirre won in a 15-3 major decision while filling in for Jesse Vasquez. Ysaguirre went 4-5 in open tournaments prior to that dual. His resumé a trip to the 2022 Fargo quarterfinals and a silver medal at Junior Nationals. He was the 28th-ranked recruit in the country, and peaked at 13th.
