EUGENE, Oregon - Championship week is here! Eleven Sun Devils are shooting for the podium this week at the NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The travel party includes defending national champions Turner Washington and Jorinde van Klinken, up-and-coming local standout Dayton Carlson, four true freshmen in Carlson, Adriana Tatum, Justin Robinson and Gamali Felix, and All-Americans Beatrice Llano and Shelby Moran. Top distance runner Vincent Mauri and high jump fanatic Jeremy Cody round out the group. All events will stream across various ESPN platforms.
Though competition doesn't start until Wednesday, championship week kicks off Monday night at 7:30 p.m. with the USTFCCCA's inaugural Collegiate Athlete Hall of Fame ceremony where Sun Devil standout and seven-time national champion Jacquelyn Johnson will be inducted alongside 29 other NCAA Track and Field legends. A heptathlete and pentathlete, Johnson earned seven NCAA titles, 10 ASU all-time top-10 marks, and two program records. The full ceremony will stream via YouTube here.

Arizona State has continued to push the envelope under head coach Dion Miller. In year three Miller is bringing his most athletes yet while leading ASU after taking nine last season. Turner Washington and Jorinde van Klinken will both defend their discus titles, and Washington will also attempt to repeat as king of the shot put too. Jeremy Cody is hoping to make a statement after back-to-back personal records at the NCAA West Prelims where he topped out at 2.18m/7-02.00 which ties for ninth in program history. In the hammer ring, Beatrice Llano and Shelby Moran will both shoot to repeat as All-Americans.
On the track, Adriana Tatum has quietly grinded out one of the best freshman seasons in the country, running a 22.77 in the 200m. That's the second fastest time in ASU program history and makes her the third fastest qualifying freshman. Freshman phenom Dayton "Daytona" Carlson has had an incredible first year too. His 1:47.79 in the 800m is the fourth best in program history and followed the Gilbert, AZ native finishing second at the Pac-12 Championships. ASU has a pair in the men's 400m in Gamali Felix and Justin Robinson. Felix' 45.18 at the West Prelims put him ninth in program history, and Robinson was right behind with a 45.30.
