WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah - For the first time since 2006, No. 11 Sun Devil Gymnastics claimed fourth place at the Pac-12 Championships with a score of 196.375 on Saturday night at the Maverik Center.
Notable Stats
Arizona State Head Coach Jay Santos
"There are a lot of things to be proud of tonight, bringing such a young team into this competitive environment. They did a great job of staying on the events and not letting anything get away from them. We did miss some of the detail work that we've been trying to emphasize over the last month or so. I think that it is common to tighten up a little bit when facing such great competition, but I also think we had the potential to work through that a little bit better. I'm confident we will take the lessons we learned tonight and the experience we gained and get back to work in the gym and it will help make us better as we enter regionals in two weeks."
On strong individual performances
"We had several bright spots tonight. Anaya has been a rock as our vault anchor for the majority of the season and boy did she put on a spectacular performance tonight. To finish second among this Pac-12 field is such an amazing accomplishment. Hannah had an excellent night as she has had all season, hitting well in the all around. And the night capped off with Cairo's amazing bar routine, which might have been her best performance of the year. These are the things that we will highlight and try to build upon moving forward."
Final Results
The Gym Devils scored a 49.000 or better for the ninth time this season. White led the team, scoring a 9.875, this was her ninth meet in a row scoring over 9.825. Scharf and junior Megan Thompson both scored 9.850.

Rotation Three: Vault, 49.200
The Sun Devils had their highest event score of the night and continued their streak of scoring a 49.000-plus, the seventh-straight meet reaching that mark. Vault specialist Smith scored a 9.925, matching her career high. She has not scored below a 9.875 in the last seven meets. Leonard-Baker also contributed a 9.850 and Scharf scored a 9.875.
