MINNEAPOLIS, Minn – Sun Devil swimming opened the 2018 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving National Championships on a high note, notching their first All-American relay team on the weekend in the 800 Free Relay on Wednesday evening.

The Devils sent the quartet of Cameron Craig, Grant House, Evan Carlson and Dylan Boyd to the block in the third heat of the event. ASU was the 8th seed, swimming a 6:16.59 at the Pac-12 Championships to secure a NCAA A Cut.

ASU swam right on-par with their A-Cut time, finishing the race with a 6:16.05 to place 7th in their heat. The time secured the Devils a top 10 finish, grabbing 10th place and 14 points with the event. The finish was also the best in program history for the 800 Free Relay, with the four breaking their own record they set at the Pac-12 Championships.

The group notches All-American status for the Devils for the second straight year, with Craig, Patrick Park, Thomaz Martins and Barkley Perry teaming up to win the honor last year. This year's squad is just the second quartet in the past 14 years to earn the honor as well.

The Devils are back in action tomorrow morning in Minneapolis with the 200 Free Relay. The squad has qualified for all six of tomorrow's events, including the 500 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free, 400 Medley Relay and 1M Diving. Fans can follow the action on Twitter at @ASUSwimDive.
