TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State redshirt junior quarterback Manny Wilkins was named to the Davey O'Brien Award's "Great 8" players for week four of the college football season, according to an announcement by the Davey O'Brien Foundation on Monday.

Wilkins was brilliant in ASU's 37-35 upset of then-No. 24 Oregon on Saturday. The Sun Devil signal caller threw for 347 yards and accounted for three TDs (one passing, two rushing) against the Ducks. Wilkins completed 24 of 39 passes and set a new school record for most consecutive attempts without an interception (188). He directed an 11-play, 57-yard drive that set up the winning points, Brandon Ruiz' 41-yard field goal with 2:33 remaining. The 347 yards passing represented Wilkins' fifth 300-yard passing effort in ASU's last seven games going back to last season.

Wilkins was joined on the list by J.T. Barrett of Ohio State, ULM's Caleb Evans, Ryan Finley of NC State, West Virginia's Will Grier, Kenny Hill of TCU, Texas A&M's Kellen Mond and Zach Smith of Baylor.

The eight honorees are determined by voting from the award's selection subcommittee. All 130 FBS quarterbacks are eligible for the weekly honor. The winner of the Davey O'Brien Quarterback of the Week Award, which will be one of the week's "Great 8" quarterbacks, will be announced Tuesday.

The Davey O'Brien Foundation was created in 1977, and the National Quarterback Award, the oldest and most prestigious college quarterback award, was first issued in 1981.

The Sun Devils (2-2, 1-0 Pac-12) return to action on Saturday (1 p.m. PT) when they travel to the Bay Area to take on Stanford (2-2, 1-1) in a game that can be seen on Pac-12 Network and heard on ESPN Radio 620 AM.
