ATLANTA -- As the final event came to a close on Saturday evening at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology, the Arizona State men's swim and dive squad realized they had accomplished their goal of swimming -- and diving -- like they never had before.

The final day saw sophomore Patrick Park make the only swimming final of the four-day championships in the men's 200-yard butterfly, and ultimately broke the ASU all-time record in the prelim event in the morning swim with a time of 1:42.83.

Another Sun Devil who will continue to be someone to watch is junior Richard Bohus, who swam a personal best in the opening leg of the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 42.96.

That relay squad -- who also featured juniors Tadas Duskinas, Thomaz Martins and Barkley Perry -- placed 19th overall, giving all four ASU relay teams top-20 finishes.

Senior Juan Tolosa swam his heart out in his final race as a Sun Devil, finishing at 15:03.48.

Off the high dive, sophomore Heikki Makikallio placed 19th in the 10-meter platform event with a score of 356.35. This year was his first-ever championship appearance.

The 2015-16 men's team made history as well, having six individual swimmers qualify for the NCAA Championships after having just four qualify in the last eight years.

Martins, Duskinas, Perry, Park, Lorenz and Bohus -- along with several other ASU swimming teammates -- will also now compete in their respective countries Olympic Trials between now and June, hoping to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
