ATLANTA -- By the end of day two at the men's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, the Arizona State swimmers have tallied three new school records.

On Wednesday, the men's 800-yard freestyle relay compiled of Richard Bohus, Patrick Park, Thomaz Martins and Barkley Perry obliterated the old school record -- which they set themselves as a group just earlier this month -- with a time of 6:22.06. The previous record was 6:24.26.

"Through the first two days we have swam six best times out of seven events, including the three new ASU records," said head coach Bob Bowman. "I'm very proud of our guys and look forward to our best event programs on Friday and Saturday."

Thursday featured two broken records, and in an uncommon manner nonetheless.

Bohus led off the men's 400-yard medley relay race, and swam the 100-yard portion of the backstroke in 46.11. In swimming, the time swam by the lead off can qualify as event and even world records. Bohus' time broke the previous school record -- in which he also set himself at the Pac-12 Championships -- which was 46.49.

The Hungary-native and the rest of his 400 medley squad -- Christian Lorenz, Tadas Duskinas and Park -- broke the event record, which they also set at the Pac-12 Championships. This time they swam the 17th-fastest time out of 24 relay teams.

In the men's 500-yard freestyle, senior Juan Tolosa finished 29th out of 53 swimmers with a time of 4:19.55, which was nearly a full second faster than his personal best. Tolosa moved into fifth all-time on the ASU list. Perry came in 35th in the same event on Thursday morning.

The freestyle sprinters -- Bohus, Park and Duskinas -- all clocked times under 20 seconds at 19.72, 19.88 and 19.92 in the 50-yard freestyle, respectively. The times for Bohus and Park were new personal bests and put them at fourth and 10th on the ASU all-time record list for the event.

Friday will feature several events for the Sun Devils, including diving. Park and Duskinas will swim in the prelim 100-yard butterfly at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT. Lorenz will participate in the 100-yard breaststroke, while Perry competes in the 100-yard backstroke along with Bohus. Reid Elliott will join Bohus, Lorenz and Duskinas for the men's 200-yard medley relay as well.

Sophomore diver Heikki Makikallio will make his NCAA Diving Championship debut in the 3-meter springboard, which features a field of 50 divers.

The prelim events can be watched here while the finals can be seen on ESPN3 and the ESPN app.
