LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The No. 29 Arizona State women's tennis team fell at the hands of the number one-ranked team in the country, UCLA 4-0 on Friday afternoon. Plagued by injuries, the Sun Devils suffered their fourth Pac-12 conference loss on the 2012 season.

"It was a really tough day for us. UCLA is a very good team and we have very little margin for error," Arizona State University head coach Sheila McInerney said.

Freshman Joanna Smith and Leighann Sahagun were the only two singles players to complete their individual match points. Joanna Smith fell to No. 116 Skylar Morton 6-2, 6-3 at the number three spot,  and Leighann Sahagun 6-2, 6-2 at the number five.

Arizona State forfeited on the number six court in singles, due to various injuries.

"With both Sianna (Simmons) and Jacqueline (Cako) getting hurt it puts us in a very difficult spot," said McInerney.

The Sun Devils continue their California spree facing USC on Saturday afternoon.

"We hope we can rebound and play well tomorrow against the trojans," McInerney said.
