, - The No. 7/5 softball team mercy-ruled the UCLA Bruins for the second time this weekend, earning senior pitcher Hillary Bach her 82nd career victory and a second-place ranking in the Sun Devil record books.

Bach's 101st game of record ended with a final score of 9-1 in five full innings, pulling the Devils to 34-4, 6-1 Pac-12. The Bruins are 25-9 on the season, 2-3 Pac-12. The right-hander threw 65 pitches on the night, including two strikeouts and no walks. Her win is just the second time in the ASU-UCLA series that the Sun Devils have mercy-ruled the Bruins, the first coming Thursday from Escobedo's win. Bach is now 82-19 in her career.
struck first with a home run shot from Elizabeth Caporuscio in the second frame. The four-bagger was Caporusio's 12th of the season, which effectively tied the freshman for 18th in single-season home runs in ASU softball history. The Sun Devils tacked on another run when pinch-runner Kayla Ketchum scored on a sacrifice fly from Talor Haro to make it a 2-0 lead.
The bottom of the third saw Katelyn Boyd come around after reaching on a walk, then stealing second before advancing home on two-consecutive wild pitches. The stolen base was Boyd's 17th of the year, which tied her for 16th in single-season stolen bases.
ASU went on to score three more runs that inning for a 6-0 lead, all off of a well-placed double from Lucy Aubrecht that ricocheted off of the center field wall.
The Bruins saw their only run of the night on a home run shot past center field from Andrea Harrison, her eighth of the year. Soon after, Annie Lockwood got in on the RBI action in the fourth, knocking in two runs with her sixth double of the season and pulling the score to 8-1. Lockwood then capped off the night with a single that plated Bailey Wigness for the final mercy-rule score of 9-1 in five frames.
Ally Carda garners the loss for UCLA, dropping her to 11-3 for the season.
