EUGENE, Ore. - The 14th-ranked Arizona State baseball team lost 1-0 to No. 23 Oregon in the first game of its doubleheader on Saturday at PK Park in Eugene, Ore. Right-hander Brady Rodgers threw a complete game, giving up one earned run on four hits with three strikeouts.
Rodgers (4-1) took his first loss of the season after allowing just four base runners on three singles, a home run and no walks. This is the third time this season Rodgers has pitched a complete game and he stands four strikeouts away from 200 in his Sun Devil career.
The Sun Devils (16-10, 3-4) collected two hits from Andrew Aplin, including a double in the fourth inning, as he extended his hitting streak to seven games.
The Ducks (16-8, 4-3) scored the only run of the game with a solo home run near the left-field foul pole to take the lead, 1-0, in the sixth inning.
Right-hander Alex Keudell (3-3) earned the win after throwing a complete-game shutout with four hits and two walks.
