EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif.—The Arizona State men’s swimming team holds strong to their sixth-place position after the second day of competition at the 2012 Pac-12 Championships, in East Los Angeles, Calif.
Sophomore Herbie Behm led the way for the Sun Devils finishing 13th in the men’s 50 free with an NCAA consideration time of 20.20. Senior Jesper Akesson also finished 23rd in the event with a time of 20:57.
The ASU 200 free relay of Behm, freshman Ore Wahnishe, Akesson and sophomore Dan Jurgs finished in seventh place with an NCAA consideration time of 1:20.82. Wahnishe swam the fasted leg of the relay with a time of 19.89.
JH Vivadelli, Ryan Glander, Caleb Veazy and Nolan Brown all qualified for the finals in the 500 free, with Vivadelli leading the way with a time of 4:26.69 to finish 19th. Freshman Zac Dalby finished in 23rd in the 200 IM with a time of 1:51.70.
The third day of the Pac-12 Championships continues tomorrow in East Los Angeles, Calif. The Sun Devils are currently in sixth place with a total of 108 points. Stanford leads the competition with 324.5.
