PALOS VERDES, Calif.--The ninth-ranked Arizona State women's golf team moves up three spots into fifth place after the second round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif. The Sun Devils shot a two-round total of 29-over 597 (302-295), tying for the fourth-lowest round of the day, Tuesday.
Senior Giulia Molinaro bounded up the leaderboard in the second round, shooting a 2-under 69 on Tuesday to move into a tie for 11th. The fifth-ranked senior carded four birdies on the day. Overall, Molinaro has shot a two-round total of 4-over 146 (77-69).
Freshman Emilie Alonso continues to have a solid second tournament as a Sun Devil. Competing as an individual, the new addition to the ASU squad shot a 76 in the second round for a two-round total of 6-over 148 (72-76) and is currently tied for 19th.
The final round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge concludes tomorrow at the par-72, 5,912 yard Palos Verdes Golf Club, with the Sun Devils paired with Duke and USC for a shotgun start. Live scoring for the tournament is available at www.golfstat.com.
