PULLMAN, Wash.--Senior Giulia Molinaro continues to lead the field of competition on the second day of the 2012 Pac-12 Championships, Saturday, at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash.
The senior shot a 2-over 74 in the second round for a two-day total of 1-over 145 to hold the tournament lead for the second-straight day. Molinaro, ranked second in the nation according to Golfweek, is currently tied for first place with California's Daniela Holmqvsit.
Despite shooting one stroke better than the previous round, the fourth-ranked Sun Devils slipped into fifth place overall with a combined two-day score of 21-over 597 (299-298). ASU is only eight strokes back from current tournament leader California.
Freshman Noemi Jimenez shot a second-day total of 74 for a total of 6-over 150 to tie for 17th. Sophomores Justine Lee and Daniela Ordonez are tied for 24th with a combined total of 7-over 151 (76-75).
The final round of the 2012 Pac-12 Championships concludes tomorrow from the par-72, 6,200-yard Palouse Ridge Golf Club with Arizona State teeing off at 8 a.m. PT.
The Sun Devils have won the Pac-12 team title a total of eight times, most recently in 2009, for the most conference championships in Pac-12 history. From 1993-96, Arizona State won four consecutive team titles. ASU also holds the record for most Pac-12 individual championships with 11.
