SEATTLE, Wash.—Despite recording some career highs, the 22nd-ranked Arizona State women’s gymnastics team fell to the No. 25 Huskies of Washington, 193.850-195.725, Friday in Seattle, Wash.
Freshman Natelle Gentile recorded her second-straight career-high on beam against Washington. After a 9.800 showing at UCLA, the freshman scored a 9.825 in the event, the second-highest score on beam for ASU. Freshman Brianna Gades led the Sun Devils on beam tying her career high with a 9.850. Senior Kahoku Palafox also clicked on beam, scoring a 9.825 to match Gentile.
The highest-scoring event on the night was vault for the Sun Devils. Senior Beaté Jones and sophomore Samantha Seaman scored back-to-back 9.800s to boost ASU in the event. Senior Callie Price added a 9.775 in the event.
Jones was the highlight of the Sun Devil’s floor line-up, scoring a 9.850 finishing the event for ASU on a high note. Seaman also started off floor pacing the Sun Devils with a 9.750.
The ASU bar team had an uncharacteristic night having to count a fall in the event. Jones once-again scored a team-high 9.775 on bars to lead the Sun Devils.
The Arizona State women’s gymnastics team returns home, Mar. 9, to host Stanford for its season finale at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Ariz. In addition to competing in a combined meet with the ASU men’s gymnastics club team, the Sun Devils will also honor their seniors.
