TEMPE, Ariz.—The Arizona State women’s and men’s swimming and diving teams fell to USC in the final home meet of 2011 for the Sun Devils. With both Trojan teams ranked in the top-10 in the first CSCAA poll of the season, the Sun Devil women lost by a score of 99-198 and the men fell to a score of 97-198.

Individually, Pac-10 Champion Rebecca Ejdervik touched first in the 100 breast, with a time of 1:01.40, besting another top breaststroker in USC's Kasey Carlson. In the same event on the men’s side, freshman Deniz Hekmati took second place in the 100 breast recording a time of 58.63.

To start off the race, the Arizona State ‘A’ relay of Penelope Yamauchi touched the wall in a close second to the Trojan ‘A’ relay with an NCAA B standard time of 1:41.81.

In diving, senior Cameron Bradshaw blew the competition out of the water. The senior finished in first place in both the men's 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events. Bradshaw, who has already qualified for the NCAA Zone E Regional Championships with his previous scores, scored 360.15 in the 1-meter and a total of 381.40 in the 3-meter.

On the women's side, Elina Eggers and Hailey Casper finished second and third in both the 3-meter and 1-meter events, with freshman Sydney Czaus also scoring points for the Sun Devils with a fourth-place finish in the women's 1-meter. 

Next up, the swim team travels to Long Beach, Calif. to the Arena Invitational, where the team hopes to notch several NCAA qualifying times, Nov. 17-19. The diving team also competes next week heading to instate rival Arizona to compete in the Wildcat Invitational Nov. 18-20.
