KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--The 10th-ranked Arizona State women's golf team is tied for 12th after the first round of the SEC/Pac-12 Challenge, Friday. The Sun Devils shot a total of 12-over 300 on the first day of the tournament.
Individually, senior Giulia Molinaro leads the Sun Devils, shooting an even-par 72 on the day. The senior carded three birdies in the first round to tie for 15th. Sophomore Daniela Ordonez is tied for 46th after the first round, shooting a 3-over 75.
The field for the tournament features seven of the top-10 teams in the nation and 15 teams ranked in the top-25, according to Golfweek. Individually, the tournament also showcases eight of the top-10 golfers in the country, based on the Golfstat individual rankings.
After the first round of competition, the Pac-12 leads the SEC in conference competition with an average score of 299.1 to the SEC's 301.5.
The second round of the SEC/Pac-12 Challenge continues tomorrow at the par-72, 6,447-yard Holston Hills Country Club. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com.
