PALO ALTO, Calif.--The fifth-ranked Arizona State women's golf team maintains its seventh-place position at the 2011 Stanford Intercollegiate after the second round of competition on Saturday. The Sun Devils shot a second-round total of 2-over 286 for a two-day total of 3-over 571 (285-286).
Senior Giulia Molinaro and reigning Pac-12 golfer of the month, continues to lead the Sun Devils. Molinaro, ranked fifth in the nation according to Golfweek, shot an even-par 71 in the second round of competition to finish the day tied for 15th.
Two other Sun Devils, freshman Noemi Jimenez and Daniela Ordonez, shot even-par 71's on the day. Overall ASU, as a team, carded 17 birdies on the day.
Sophomore Justine Lee, playing number one in the line-up, is currently tied for 36 with a two-round total of 2-over 144. On the season so far, Lee had recorded two top-10 finishes for the Sun Devils.
The final round of the 2011 Stanford Intercollegiate concludes tomorrow at the par-71, 6,100-yard Stanford Golf Course. Live scoring for the tournament is available at www.golfstat.com.
