The Arizona State men's swimming team concluded the Pacific-10 Swimming Championships in fifth place. The Sun Devils scored 326 points in the process. Stanford won the conference championships.
Caleb Veazey was the highest Sun Devil finisher the final day. The freshman placed 10th in the 1,650 freestyle after clocking in a time of 15:28.17. His time is below the NCAA consideration cut.
In the 200 back, Xavier Mohammed earned an NCAA "B" standard time in both the preliminaries and the finals. His earlier time was his faster time as he clocked in at 1:45.07. Max Laney earned an NCAA consideration time in the 200 back as well. The sophomore turned in a time of 1:46.44 to place 11th overall.
Several Sun Devils competed in the 100 free. Jesper Akesson turned in the fastest time, finishing in 44.96 seconds in the preliminaries. Nolan Ruane (45.62), Jake Lehman (46.16), Adrian Kirkpatrick (46.34), Marin Naranca (46.87) and Andrew Schneller (48.69) also competed in the 100 free.
Stephen Estes clocked in a time of 2:06.95 in the 200 breast while Derek Knittle finished in 2:10.52. With a time of 1:49.80, Yutaro Yamashita was the Sun Devils' top 200 flier. James Rigg touched the pad at 1:53.04 and Joey Wasko finished in 1:56.54.
The 400 free team of Ruane, Akesson, Repp and Lehman earned a time of 3:02.65. The Sun Devils now await to see who is chosen for the NCAA Championships.
