LOS ANGELES (AP) - Ashley Corral scored 20 points and USC pulled away in the final 5 minutes to beat Arizona State 62-52 on Saturday.
The victory gives the Trojans (18-11, 12-6 Pac-10) sole possession of third place behind Stanford and UCLA.
With USC trailing 46-45, Aarika Hughes sank a layup with 4:44 left that put the Trojans ahead 47-46. They never gave up the lead, outscoring the Sun Devils 17-6 over the last 5 minutes.
Corral hit four 3-pointers for the Trojans, and Christina Marinacci and Hughes contributed nine points apiece.
Danielle Orsillo's 13 points led the Sun Devils (17-12, 9-9), who committed 23 turnovers. Tenaya Watson scored 11.
Arizona State led 33-26 at intermission but shot just 26.3 percent in the second half, making just five baskets.
The Sun Devils will be the No. 5 seed, and they will face California in the quarterfinals Friday.
