The Arizona State University men's swimming team wrapped up day three of the Pacific-10 Conference Championships in fifth place. The Sun Devils have scored 227 points. The championships conclude tomorrow.
Xavier Mohammed moved to fifth all-time on ASU's top-10 400 IM list. The sophomore clocked in an NCAA "B" standard of 3:51.16 to finish 11th overall.
Adrian Kirkpatrick earned his own NCAA consideration time in the 200 free in the preliminaries. The junior touched the wall at 1:38.02 to earn a "B" standard time. He went 1:38.74 in the "B" final. Grayson Repp also competed in the 200 free, earning a time of 1:39.67. Caleb Veazey clocked in at 1:40.51 to place second in the "C" final. Marin Naranca (1:42.36), Jake Lehman (1:43.24), Nolan Ruane (1:43.79), Sean Niccolucci (1:43.83), Anthony Calenti (1:45.07) and Andrew Schneller (1:47.83) also competed in the 200 free.
In the 100 fly, James Rigg touched the pad at 49.11 to go second in the "C" final. Yutaro Yamashita followed Rigg, finishing in 49.91. Joey Wasko also competed in the "C" final, earning a time of 51.43.
Jesper Akesson was the fastest Sun Devil in the 100 breast. The sophomore clocked in at 55.92. Stephen Estes (56.19) and Derek Knittle (1:00.33) also competed in the 100 breast. Max Laney clocked in a time of 49.23 to win the "C" final while James Rigg finished in 50.19 in the "B" final of the 100 back. Joey Wasko also competed in the 100 back earning a time of 52.33.
The 400 medley team of Xavier Mohammed, Jesper Akesson, James Rigg and Nolan Ruane went 3:20.55 to conclude the night.
