The Arizona State women's swimming and diving team concluded day one of the 2010 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. The championships are being held at the Boilermaker Aquatics Center in West Lafayette, Ind., and will continue through Saturday.
Diver Elina Eggers was the highest Sun Devil finisher in any event of the day. The sophomore placed 22nd after scoring 276.85 on the 1-meter springboard.
Two Sun Devils competed in the 200 IM. Jamie Martinez clocked in at 2:01.04 to finish 47th overall. Senior Ashley Evans touched the wall at 1:58.90 which placed her at 53rd.
Rebecca Ejdervik and Jordyn Green will make their debut tomorrow in the 100 breast. Martinez will also compete in the 100 back while Eggers will take on the 3-meter springboard.
