TUCSON, Ariz.—The Arizona State men’s diving team dominated the competition on the first day of the Wildcat Invitational. With 35 divers contending for the men’s 1-Meter Championship from 11 different schools, sophomore All-Americans Riley McCormick and Constantin Blaha finished one and two in the talent-laden field.
McCormick scored a 389.50 for a first-place finish, while Blaha scored 380.10 for a comfortable second. Junior Cameron Bradshaw also placed in the 1-meter final, scoring a 343.85 for sixth place.
On the women’s side, both Brittany Jumer and Hailey Casper made the 3-Meter Championship finals. Jumer finished in seventh place with a score of 267.30, besting teammate Casper (267.20) by a tenth of a point. Junior All-American Elina Eggers finished ninth in the preliminaries, one spot out of qualifying for the finals.
The second day of the Wildcat continues tomorrow at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center at the University of Arizona. The men will compete in the 3-meter springboard, with the women competing in the 1-meter.
