SEATTLE, Wash – Even with a well-fought second set the Sun Devil Volleyball team saw their four-match Pac-10 win streak come to an end Saturday night as the seventh-ranked Washington Huskies took off with a 25-16, 27-25 and 25-15 win. The Sun Devils fall to 9-12 overall and 4-5 in the Pac-10 while Washington moves to 17-3 overall and 6-3 in conference.

Set one saw A State only able to compile a .074 attack percentage in the set with the Husky defense stepping up huge for four blocks to stymie the Sun Devil attack while Bianca Rowland brought it for the offense with a .444 attack percentage to take off with a decisive 25-16 win.

ASU fought back in the second set as they battled to three tie scores while posting a .151 attack percentage with three blocks, with Sonja Markanovich collecting three block assists for the Sun Devils who pushed UW to extra points. The effort wasn’t enough in the end though as Kindra Carlson put six kills on the floor to give UW a 2-0 lead heading into the break with a 27-25 win.

While ASU grinded out a .130 attack percentage in the third set, the Huskies had already found their groove with a .400 attack percentage with Kindra Carlsn shining again with a .667 attack percentage with four kills to lead UW to the clean sweep 25-15.

The Sun Devils will return home to host the final Duel in the Desert next weekend as they face Arizona Friday night at 7 p.m. in Tempe at Wells Fargo Arena.
