Final Stats

The Arizona State swimming and diving teams fell in their matchup with Arizona. The women's team dropped their meet 196-102 while the men lost 212-87. The women are now 6-6 (2-5 Pac-10) and the men dropped to 2-7 (0-4 Pac-10).

The Sun Devils found success in the diving well as they won three out of four events. Elina Eggers swept the springboards for the women while Brittany Jumer finished runner-up on both. Constantin Blaha took first on the 1-meter with 385.16 points. While Riley McCormick finished second on the 3-meter.

Senior Max Laney made sure he made his final meet at Mona Plummer Aquatic Center a memorable one. Laney won the 200 back after clocking in at 1:46.79, just above the NCAA "B" cut. He additionally placed second in the 200 IM, finishing in 1:52.32.

Sophomore Shoshanna Rutemiller was the top finisher in the 200 fly. The Arizona native earned a career-best time of 2:01.95 to win by more than six seconds. Caleb Veazey earned a win in the 1000 free. The freshman from Dallas clocked in at 9:23.81. Sophomore Rebecca Ejdervik earned an NCAA "B' cut in the 100 breast after placing second in 1:02.03.

The Pacific-10 Championships looms for the Sun Devils. The women will head to Long Beach for their championships Feb. 24-27 while diving will travel to Federal Way, Wash., Feb. 25-27. The men's Pac-10 Championships will take place in Long Beach, Mar. 3-6.
