TEMPE, Ariz. - Fourteen hits for eleven runs as well as Hillary Bach's fifth complete game shutout in six postseason starts spelled the story for the tenth-seeded ASU Softball as they punched their ticket to their fourth consecutive Women's College World Series on Saturday with an 11-0 win in five innings over the North Dakota Bisons. The win puts ASU at 46-17 on the season while NDSU's season ends with a 38-20 record overall.
The Sun Devils started off on the right foot as they went full throttle in the first as they put four hits on the board for three runs with RBIs from Krista Donnenwirth, Katie Crabb and Katelyn Boyd to jump up 3-0. The Devils were back at it again in the second as they lit up NDSU for five hits and seven runs while capitalizing on two errors to take an 10-0 lead after just two innings.
Hillary Bach composed yet another genius symphony in the circle as she continued her perfection from the night before, retiring at one point 20 consecutive batters between the two games. With Lesley Rogers adding a solo shot for her third home run of the season to put the score at 11-0 where Bach took it the rest of the way, throwing only 55 pitches total in the outing to put her record at 30-9 for the year.
The Sun Devils will now travel to Oklahoma City and await the completion of the rest of the Super Regionals to see who they'll lock horns with at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium starting May 28.
