OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Another masterful outing from Hillary Bach and a two-run homerun from Katie Crabb weren't enough to keep No. 10 ASU Softball's season alive Saturday night as they fell in a tough 6-2 loss to No.4 Alabama in Game 10 of the WCWS to be eliminated. ASU finishes the 2009 season with a 47-19 final record.

The Sun Devils struck first in the game in the fourth as a lead-off single from Krista Donnenwirth and a fielder's choice to Talor Haro was brought home by Katie Crabb's fourth home run of the season with a rocket to left field off the first pitch she saw to give ASU a 2-0 lead.

The Crimson Tide wasn't done yet as they rallied back in the bottom of the inning as they managed to load the bases where four-time All-American Brittany Rogers was pinch-hit for by a freshman, Jaczlyn Lunceford who crushed a 2-2 pitch deep to left field for her first career grand slam to take the lead 4-2 after four complete.

Costly errors and misplays cost the Sun Devils again in the fifth inning as the Crimson Tide added two more unearned runs to their tab to hold a 6-2 lead over the Sun Devils headed into the sixth inning.

Hillary Bach still pitched amazing through the rest of the outing but the effort just wasn't enough as the offense couldn't generate anything more for the year as they fell in their final outing of 2009.

The loss wraps ASU's season as they are eliminated from the 2009 WCWS with a final season record of 47-19.
