Competing alongside the men's club team, the Gym Devils defeated the No. 24 Washington Huskies in their sixth consecutive Pac-10 match-up. The final score was ASU 195.575, Washington 195.075. Beaté Jones shattered her career-high in the all-around to take first with a 39.4. Nicole Harris took second with a score of 39.275.
In the first rotation, Jones led the team scoring a 9.875, taking first place. Sophomore Mary Atkinson scored a solid 9.8 placing third. Harris stuck her landing to earn a 9.75. Freshman Stephanie Hangartner scored a 9.625 and Kelly Reilly posted a 9.425. The Sun Devils had a team score of 48.475 and the Huskies a 48.625.
The Sun Devils team score on bars was a 48.95. Harris tied her season-high score of 9.875. Jones had her second career-high of the night with a 9.825 to take third. Kaitlynn Bormann posted a 9.775. Freshman Kahoku Palafox tied her career-best score of 9.75.Francesca Mercurio earned a 9.725. Mary Atkinson competed an exhibition, scoring a 9.800. The Huskies team total was 48.675.
On beam, The Sun Devils compiled a season-high team total of 49.200. Harris nailed her routine scoring a season-high of 9.925, taking first place. Her score was her highest on beam since the 2007 Pac-10 Championships. Bormann tied for second posting a solid 9.825. Jean earned a 9.850. Jones tied her career-best with a 9.800. Sophomore Mercurio had a nice set to receive a season-high 9.8. Freshman Amber Hammerschmidt had her second 9.8 of the season to tie her career-high. The Huskies earned a team total of 49.000.
In the final rotation, Jones took first place tying her career-high score of 9.900. Jones either hit or upped her career-high in three events, as well as the all-around. Jean performed her way to a 9.825, tying for second place. Hangartner, who has been a solid floor-worker this season, earned a 9.775. Mercurio and Harris each put up scores of 9.725 The Sun Devils had a team total of 48.950. The Huskies totaled a 48.775.
The Sun Devils travel to the Salt Lake City next week to compete against long-time rival, No. 2 Utah.
