Sept. 27, 2008

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The Arizona State women's golf team finished the second round in sixth place at the Mason Rudolph Championship held at the par-72, 6,217-yard Legends South Course in Franklin, Tenn. The Sun Devils shot a 4-over 580 (289-291) over the past two days.

"The team is playing good golf this week but I have yet to see great golf," says head coach Melissa Luellen on the team. "They are struggling reading the greens but apparently other teams are not. There are tournaments when birdies are flying all over for the team then weeks like this one where it's a dry well."

Junior Anna Nordqvist will lead the Sun Devils heading into the final round. Nordqvist shot a 1-under 71 in the second round to put her at par 144 (73-71). Nordqvist recorded three birdies on day two. She is currently tied for 17th. Seniors Jennifer Osborn and Azahara Munoz both finished round two at 1-over 145 (72-73). Both are tied for 21st.

Junior Juliana Murcia is currently tied for 25th. The native of Bogotá, Colombia shot a 2-over 146 (72-74) over the past two days. Liisa Kelo finished round two at 17-over 161 (81-80) to finish day two tied for 83rd.

"We have one more day left and we have a history of playing well in the final round," says Luellen. "I'm really looking forward to it."

The Sun Devils will conclude the tournament tomorrow. Live results are available on www.golfstat.com
