LINCOLN, Calif. - The fourth ranked Arizona State women's golf team moved up to third place after a strong second round of the NCAA West Regional at the par-72 Lincoln Hills Golf Course. The Sun Devils shot 5-over 581 (296-285) to move up seven spots from the previous day. They are three shots behind second place UNLV and 10 shots behind leader USC.

Azahara Munoz closed in on the lead by moving into second after shooting 1-under par in the second round. She has shot a 4-under 140 (69-71) in the first two rounds and is three shots off current leader Therese Koelbaek of UNLV. After shooting an even-par for the second consecutive day, junior All-American Jennifer Osborn is currently tied for eighth at 144 (72-72).

Sophomore All-American Anna Nordqvist had an impressive showing in the second round, shooting 2-under 70 on the day. She is currently 3-over 147 (77-70) after two rounds. Juliana Murcia has shot 6-over 150 (78-72) in the first two rounds while Liisa Kelo is currently 13-over 157 (78-79).

"We competed really well today," says head coach Melissa Luellen. "Our goal is to keep playing great and catch up to USC."

The NCAA West Regional will conclude tomorrow. The Sun Devils tee-off tomorrow at 8:10 a.m. PT and will be paired up with USC and UNLV. Live scoring is available after every two holes of the NCAA West Regional at www.golfstat.com.

The top eight teams from each of the three NCAA Regionals (East, West and Central) will qualify for the NCAA Championships, being hosted May 20-23 by the University of New Mexico at the UNM Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque, N.M.
