Final Stats

Both the Arizona State men and women's swimming and diving teams fell in their Pac-10 openers in Los Angeles. The women lost 195-105 to the UCLA Bruins, dropping them to 0-3. The men suffered a 130-67 setback to USC.

Jen Beckberger notched her first event win of the season in the 200 free. The Canadian clocked in at 1:49.41. Sasha Stephens continued to perform well in the 100 back. The freshman placed second in 56.87. In the 100 breast, the Sun Devils went second through fifth as Sara McDaniel took second in 1:05.04. Jordyn Green came in third while Ilene Lesch and Ashley Evans followed.

In the 200 fly, Ashton Aubry placed second. The junior from Leawood, Kan., clocked in a time of 2:03.56. Beckberger placed second in both the 50 and 100 free, earning times of 23.77 and 51.44 respectively. Stephens took second in the 200 back at 2:04.07.

Freshman Penelope Yamauchi won the 200 breast. The Santa Rosa, Calif., native won in 2:19.29. Fellow freshman Jordyn Green took third in 2:22.95. Aubry won the 100 fly in 54.57, less than a second off the B standard time.

Sean Boyle shined for the men. The senior won the 200 free in a time of 1:37.68. Fellow senior Vinicius Waked placed third in the event, clocking in at 1:38.04. Boyle also placed third in both the 200 fly and 500 free. He hit the wall at 1:47.86 in the 200 fly and finished the 500 free in 4:28.86
