TEMPE, Ariz. - For the third straight game the Sun Devil bats were popping, as Arizona State swept the UAB Blazers with a 12-5 victory on Sunday afternoon. The win ups their record to 10-3 on the season.

The ASU offense started quickly, scoring three times in the opening frame. Petey Paramore knocked in two runs with his single up the middle, one of his three hits on the afternoon. The Devils would add four more in the second to jump out to a 7-0 lead before UAB would post a run in the third to make it 7-1.

Brett Wallace put the capper on the weekend in the fifth, blasting a two-run shot to right-center that ended up on Rural Road. It was Wallace's first homer of the year and the first round-tripper given up by UAB all season. Wallace finished the day 2-2 with three runs batted in.

Joe Hatasaki made his collegiate debut on Saturday, starting the game and lasting 2.2 innings. He allowed one run on one hit and struck out two. Dustin Brader threw four innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out four to pick up the victory, his first as a Sun Devil.

Petey Paramore went 3-3 on the day, knocking in three runs and scoring twice. He also moved from his usual spot behind the plate to third base late in the game. Paramore went 6-10 (.600) in the series against the Blazers, scoring seven times and driving in three runs. He also drew four walks and stole a base.

ASU now heads to Tucson for a Tuesday afternoon game with the rival Arizona Wildcats. The game will begin at 4 p.m. from Sancet Stadium.
