CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - Katie Burkhart allowed only four hits and struck-out 15 on the night to lead the No. 2/3 ASU to their 15th consecutive win Friday night as the Sun Devils took a 2-1 win from the Ole Miss Rebels. ASU is now a perfect 15-0 for the season with three more games to go in the 2007 Palm Springs Classic.
The Sun Devils grabbed their first run in the fifth as a lead-off walk to Rhiannon Baca was brought home by a sacrifice bunt from Kristen Miller and a single down the right line from pinch hitter Ashley Muenz to jump ahead 1-0.
ASU was able to add another to the tab in the sixth as Katie Burkhart turned on cruise control to finish out the game for a 2-1 win, pushing ASU to 15-0. The Sun Devils resume action in the 2007 Palm Springs Classic tomorrow night as they set to face-off against the national championship runner-up, #7/12 Northwestern at 6 p.m. and Oklahoma State at 8:30 p.m. PT.
