Palo Alto, Calif. - The fourth-ranked Arizona State women's golf team is currently in third place after the first round of the Stanford Intercollegiate in Palo Alto, Calif. ASU shot a 9-over 293, eleven strokes off first-place Duke. No. 1 UCLA holds the second-place spot, with a two-stroke lead over the Sun Devils.
Junior All-American Jennifer Osborn shot a 1-under 70 to tie for eighth. Carding two birdies in round one, Osborn recorded her lowest round of the season. Junior All-American Azahara Munoz shot a 1-over 72 to tie for 11th. Sophomore Juliana Murcia is tied for 24th after shooting a 4-over 75. Sophomore All-American Anna Nordqvist shot a 5-over 76 to tie for 39th. Senior Camila Sola is tied for 73rd after shooting a 10-over 81.
Duke's Amanda Blumenherst is currently in first place after the first round, shooting a 5-under 66.
The second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate will continue tomorrow at the par-71, 6,092-yard Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif.
